Ghanaian born, Janet Asare moved to London at the age of 18 where she began her career as a nurse with the NHS. Following in her mother's footsteps, Janet qualified as a midwife in 1975. Mrs Mary Asare, Janet's mother and inspiration, delivered her first set of triplets as a qualified midwife in Africa in 1950.
